Let’s face it; life can be pretty stressful just going about our daily duties; so having a hobby or craft that we enjoy and can escape in to, provides us with a natural therapeutic antidote to tensions and stresses caused by living. It induces a relaxed state helping to reduce our blood pressure.

There are many mental and physical attributes associated with crafting; it is fun and allows us to use our imaginations. Most of us are good at some kind of craft; whether it is crafting with paper and scissors, canvas and paint, hammer and nails, needles and yarn or any other medium. Additionally, we feel happy when we are doing things that are fun, this is because our bodies release a cocktail of happy hormones (Serotonin and others) flooding our system giving us a “natural” high.

Art and Crafting is also a great way to bring family members together, creating an ideal situation for family bonding. Family craft projects can also be rewarding financially as well as emotionally; indeed, the internet is full of family firms that came about through families enjoying time together to work on projects they love.
